HAVE 1998 NISSAN SENTRA 150000 MILES AUTOMATIC SHIFT IN AL GEARS BUT WHEN YOUR GOING DOWN TO ROAD IT DOESNT SEEM TO SHIFT IN TO THE GEARS ITS LIKE IT REALLY IDLING SUPER HIGH I CHECK THE FLUID IT HAD A BURNED SMELL

Hi Kevin -

Looks like you have a couple issues here. First of all, check the idle solenoid. It could be keeping the idle in cold mode. What is the RPM anyway?

Once that is done, then check the transmission. If it smells burnt, then you need to change the oil and filter. If that does not work, then it is time for an overhaul.
