Nissan Repair: Xterra keyless entry, 2004 nissan xterra, nissan xterra

Question
Hello we have a 2004 Nissan XTerra. Some one hit the rear end when it was parked one day and we had to have some minor body work done to the rear bumper and trunk hatch. When we received the car back from the body shop the keyless entry will only unlock the driver side door. It worked fine all the way up to the day we dropped it off at the body shop. Under normal conditions we hit the unlock button once to unlock the driver side door and twice to unlock all the other doors, but now it only locks and unlocks the driver side. if you are in the car and try to unlock them with the remote you can hear a clicking under the dash. The lights still blink and everything else works but it will not unlock the other doors, we checked the fuses and still nothing has solved the problem. Can the body shop have put something together wrong with the minor repair to the rear end? Please help any advice will be great!

Answer
Hi Kevin -

Absolutely.

There are a plethora of wires and connections that are associated with the Keyless entry system, and I feel that the lead that goes to the passenger side door, and perhaps the trunk (is that on remote as well?) was disconnected somehow.

Please take it back and have them take a look at it. It happens all the time.

Hope this helps, Kevin -

Aloha
