Nissan Repair: 2004 Maxima SL 17 Rim, steel rims, aluminum wheels

Question
I took my car for rotation and balancing and was told one of my rim inside is bent. Would this cause any damage to my car? Can the rim be repaired or will I have to replace it?

Answer
Hi Randy -

If the damage is not that bad, you may keep running it. However if the damage is eating into the tire, then I would definitely replace the rim. Depending on what kind of rim you have, some of them you can repair. Is it aluminum wheels, or just regular steel rims?

The only other thing that it can do as far as performance wise, is cause the car to shimmy, especailly at high speeds. If the car is not doing this, then I would say there is a good chance you can let it slide.

Hope this helps -
