Nissan Repair: 2000 maxima, light car, compression test

For my 2000 maxima I replace all my plugs, colis, and MAF. Found on leaks. No CEL. When driving car it drives nice and fast, but when stop for stop sign/light car feels like its going to stall. Muffler is doing putter sound and engine is shaken. Also, when car has not been driving for a couple of hours it would die. I have to start it about 3 times and push on the gas pedal for it not to die.  Please help!!

Hi David -

You did not say whether you replaced the ignition wires, distributor cap and rotor. Those need to be changed as well.

Have you taken a compression test?

Also, check for a vaccuum leak.

Please take out the spark plugs one by one, and note the color of the electrode (black, white, or brownish).

Please do these things and get back to me, then we can go to the next step.
