Answer
William,

If you have trapped air in your heater core it can be bled out by loosing one of the clamps on the heater core, at the firewall and let the air escape and then reconnect.  If the heater core is leaking it would need to be replaced and that requires the removal of manu components on the dash to gain access.  It is not difficult but takes time so plan for a day to do the replacement.

Follow the upper hose and you'll find the thermostat where the hose connects to the engine.  I would change the thermostat with a Nissan thermostat as they are much better than the aftermarket ones.  Remember to use a fifty/fifty mix of antifreeze and demineralized water to keep corrosion down.
