Nissan Repair: 96 maxima transmission, cv joints, stethiscope

i replaced the starter as well as the drive axels in a 96 maxima, when i get it all back together there is this srtange buzzing sound coming from what seems to be the 'auotmatic' transmission. with a stethiscope i can hear it through the starter and that area , but its loudest on the pan of the tranny?

I will assume that the noise is when the car is running but not driving?  If this is the case check the CV driveshafts and make sure they are seated all the way.  Also, check the fluid level as you always have some leak out when you pull the CV joints and low fluid can cause a buzzing noise too.
