BMW Repair: Blower, gauge wires, heavy gauge

Question
I have recently aquired a 318i 1996 (E36). The blower has stopped working, although I am sure it worked when I bought it. I have seen your posts on similer subject on E46. Can you please tell me where the Resistor is, for me to check it out. I have already removed the glove box and other easily removable panels and everything is visible and accessible. Iam  a Computer engineer by profession confident in doing this job. Many thanks in advance....

Answer
Gunawardena, Remove drivers knee bolster. Two screws in the front, two on bottom and clips on the left side toward the door. Lower panel remove gong connector and set aside. In the footwell toward the center console you will see a long 4 wire connector with heavy gauge wires in it. This is your final stage resistor. Pull to remove. Keep in mind that the A/C control module can be at fault aswell.
