Nissan Repair: Nissan Multi 1986 EG1, nissan multi, autozone

Question
Car was working good then on the highway starting missing, is a standard, not much power, lights dimmed, electrics almost stopped.  Pulled over, switch off car, when tried to restart, battery dead.  Pushed started, but still not much power.
Recharged battery, everything seems to be working, except the fuse for the rear lights keeps burning out.

Any ideas?  Do I need a new alternator? is the short in the lights burning the battery out?

Answer
Khal,

Sounds like the alternator to me with the age of the vehicle.  ALso, get the battery fully charged and take it to Autozone or Checker and they will do a free electrical inspection with their computer.  With a fully charged battery you should be able to get the car to the store and home.
