Nissan Repair: 90 Nissan Maxima 4-dr cv joint..., cv shaft, extension shaft

Hi Von,  The passenger side CV joint came apart (at the outer joint) and I am
attempting to change it.  My question is about what appears to be an
extension shaft that the CV assembly connects to.  Directions  I've seen online
tell me to pry the shaft out of the transmission, but this extension shaft
seems "fixed" or bolted in place.  I assume I should not try to remove this
along with the old cv shaft.  How do I get the CV shaft dissengaged from the
extension shaft?  Many Thanks!

You are in luck since the extension shaft only has a small bolt sircle.  Just remove the bolts at that location and slide the driveshaft out.  No need to remove the whole thing on the passenger side.  If you are under the car looking straight up you should see the sides of the bolts.
