Goodevening,I have ~120000 miles on my car, service engine soon light came on, after checking at Autozone:manufacturer control transmission P1706, is it serious; another problem is: engine stalls idling(at traffic lights too) but runs OK with the AC on, is it connected with above code? Thanks.

This is the shift interlock and it should be replaced.  There is one on the shifter that keeps the car from starting unless in park or neutral.  The idle is probably the idle dashpot not activating unless the air is on.  That is the plunger looking thing on one side of the throttle body.
