Nissan Repair: Nissan Sentra 1997 starting problem, neutral safety switch, nissan sentra

Question
My mother has a 1997 sentra that ran fine until the other day.  She tried to start it this morning and her lights came on but it would not turn over.  I have since tried to jump it off and then had the battery tested.  battery was okay and I cleaned terminals and starting (no luck) and jumping again (no luck).  Could this be a bad cable?

Answer
Bill,

Could be a defective cable, starter or even a neutral safety switch.  Jump the starter at the starter and see if it starts.  If so, check the neutral safety switch.  IF you are not getting power to the starter on the large cable then the cable is defective.
