Nissan Repair: altenator ground wire, blown fuse, nissan maxima

Question
I discovered a wire hanging down from the alternator on my 1986 Nissan maxima.  It appears to be a ground wire.  What area is it attached to. I'm sure the juice is not getting to the battery.  Gage shows nothing happening

Answer
Rich,

Your alternator is grounded to the case and there is a power and switch wire that attach to the alternator.  I would check the harness that goes to the battery and the starter to see where it came off.  I cannot see the wire so that is my advise to you on checking where the wire came off.  These are the two most common places where the wire would connect to.  Also, check the master fuses and fuse links on the positive terminal on the battery for a blown fuse or fuse link.
