Nissan Repair: 2001 maxima problem, throttle position sensor, volt ohm meter

i have a 2001 maxima se. 5 speed,when you start the car and its idling and you press gas it sputters. then when you put it in gear and press gas the take off is sluggish and it also jerks like when a person is just learning how to drive stick.i also recently change the throttle position sensor and it still has the same problem.PLEASE HELP ME

Could be the coils.  I personally have a 2000 Maxima and the coils were the problem.  If yours is an early 2001 you will have that problem too...  The throttle position sensor needs to be checked with a volt/ohm meter to make sure it is set correctly.  But, if you put it back where the original one was oriented (clocked) then it is probably fine.  The other thing here is you have replaced the plugs.  The book says something like 80 K miles but I replaced mine at 60 K and they really needed to be changed.  So, if the plugs have not been changed do so.  Email me back if you need more.
