Nissan Repair: missing circut board on 87 pickup, buzzer circuit, car inspection

Question
i was very annoyed with the open door bell in my truck every time i turned it would ding. One day i decided to try to find the bell ,and i thought i had so i ripped it out but come to find out it was a circuit board and the bell was under it. Now i would have replaced it but the board broke into pieces when i ripped it out.the circuit board was located on the drivers side in front on the door behind a guard. also there was a red wire that was connected to it that is now just hanging there i think the wire is the main power supply to the radio because when i straight wired it to the radio the radio came back on. I guess my question to you is what was that circuit board what was its purpose and is it hurting my truck by not being there?

Answer
Gary,

The wiring was for switched ignition so it should not mess up anything else since it was the warning buzzer circuit.  That is, unless you live where the car inspection guys check for the buzzer.  Most do not so just wire the radio up and you should be fine.  Make sure you tape off the wiring so it does not short.
