Nissan Repair: 2003 Pathfinder, infiniti g35, gas tank

check engine light is on, scanned at the dealer,P 1456 or a small leak in the evap system was identified as the problem. Gas cap relacement was the repair, codes were cleared and two days later the check engine light is on again. What are the componets of the evap system and what is my next step? How do I avoid spending with a full day of downtime and repair the problem on my next service.

I would have the dealer check out the evaporative system to include all the hoses and clamps that the gas tank, canister and related components connect to.  The 2003 350Z and Infiniti G35 had those problems.  I did not see a recall on your car but you might check with the dealer.
