Question
My car died one day while driving everything just started to go very slow as if the battery was dying we were told it was the alternator and purchased a new one and the belts the car started to work once replace and then did the exact same thing again ! It can be jumped off from another car and the battery test confirms the battery is fine... I have no idea what else to do ... Oh also the gauges will not work and the fuses have been changed and when you open the door and there is NOT A key in the ignition it makes a ticking sound like a blinker is on when the car is off I have checked the blinker and hazard light switches and both are in the off position and when you close the door the noise stops !!! I have no clue what to do sorry so long PLEASE HELP!!!!

Answer
Ashley,

If the car does what you say it is not charging the car.  You need to get the charging system checked out.  I would charge the battery and reinstall it and drive it to Autozone or Checker and get a free electrical inspection.  They will hook up their loadmeter to your car and see where the problem is.  The noise you describe is probably the alarm system going nuts since the voltage is low.  If you have an aftermarket alarm and the ignition kill relay is going out this could be the cause of the clicking.
