Nissan Repair: 88 Nissan Pulsar wont turn over..., timing computer, nissan pulsar

Question
It was running fine for about 2800 miles into 240k miles, had some slip & trouble catching at 75-90mph (pull & go)
Then came a problem with no response to throttle when I gave it gas at 5-20mph & would sometimes back fire (sounds came from front). One day it was unresponsive to throttle & was barely idling, now it has stopped running completely, wont turn over again.
Is this timing, computer censor, fuel pump or carb?

Answer
Trevalyn,

First get the battery charged.  Second take the distributor apart to look for signs of oil on the optical shutter wheel.  The problem is probably due to the oil seal failing in the bottom of the distributor and then the oil migrates up the shaft to the distributor shutter wheel.  If you find oil on the optics replace the distributor with a rebuilt one.  If not email me back and we'll go from there.
