Nissan Repair: electric trunk release, striker plate, trunk release

the trunk will not open with the electric release or the key remote. it will open with the key manually. you can here it trying to open when you push the switch, i even tried pulling up on trunk lid while pushing release. with trunk open and pushing release you can see the lever moving. what is wrong?

There is a valet lever that slides over in the trunk on the bottom side of the trunk.  Where it latches to the car look and you should see it and be able to slide it to the left.  Nissan does not put this informaion in the manual and you end up finding out by accident.  Keeps the valet from stealing things in your trunk when you give them the valet key and slide the latch plate over to the right on the striker plate.
