Nissan Repair: 1991 Nissan 300zx Fuel problem?, fuel pressure regulator, nissan 300zx

Question
Ok. I have a 1991 Nissan 300zx Twin Turbo.  Recently it has been burning gas like crazy. (getting something like 5 miles to the gallon).  I've also been getting alot of white smoke from the exhaust and a really strong gas smell.  Also (and I don't know if this is related)  but I have to crank the car for 7 or 8 seconds before it actually starts.

Other than that the car actually runs great.  Turbos work,   Acceleration and idling is perfect.  I'm not having any misfires or anything like that.  What is the problem here?

Answer
Karim,

Check the fuel pressure regulator since I think it is blown.  Remvoe the vacuum line from it and check the fuel pressure both with it on and off.  I bet it does not change.  If the pressure changed then you have a stuck fuel injector and I would pull each plug until you find one or more that is really black and that one or those will be the ones with the injectors that need to be replaced.
