Nissan Repair: Car window, nissan pulsar, putty knife

Question
Hi there

I have a Nissan Pulsar xi and this morning when I closed the door the window slid right down. Its got electric windows. The car wasnt on or anything I was hoping out of the car.  When I try to put the window up it just makes the sound of it going up as tho the window has come out of the area its suppose to be?  Am I able to fix this myself?  if so is there an easy way? hehe. Thanks heaps.

Answer
Hi Mia -

Looks like your window fell out of the track. The only way to get to it is to remove the door panel, and behind that you have access to the entire window system (limited space, though).

Removing the door panel is pretty basic, although you do need some tools. You pry it off at the edges with a putty knife or scraper. Remove all screws that hold the door handle trim, arm rest, etc. If you windows are power windows, the wires need to be disconnected.

Just by looking at the window, it must be determined if it fell off the track, the track collapsed. or the regulator or strap broke and must be repaired respectively.

Hope this helps -
