Nissan Repair: 1996 Nissan Sentra GXE wont start, nissan sentra gxe, neutral safety switch

Hello,  I have a 96 Sentra Gxe, the car won't even crank.  I can hear the "click" of the switch when i try to turn the engine over, but nothing happens.  This hasn't happened before.  I have tried to put it in nuetral, and also depressing the gas peddle because it was somewhat cold the night before.  but niether of these ways has worked.  please let me know of any way i can at least get it to turn over once as i need to get it to at least a mechanic.  Thank u in advance.

A couple of things could cause this problem.  The first is a dead battery.  I would take the battery and get it tested first.  Second is a defective starter and third is the neutral safety switch.  Do the lights and radio work on the car?  If so, the battery is probably ok and then it would be the starter or the neutral safety switch.  Email me back if you need more.
