Nissan Repair: Engine swap, vtc, best bet

I 'am going to swap engine from GA16De non VTC to DA16De VTC for my sentra '91. What is difference on ECU's pin for VTC solenoid and others.

I have not done one of these before.  But, I would say since you are going to put a non VTC controlled engine into a car that had VTC you should not have too much difficulty.  But, since it will not be there for the computer to read you will get a code.  The best bet is to take the harness from the old car and install it in yours along with the engine.  You know the new engine is not going to have the power of the one with VTC?  Just a thought that you might get one that has it.  VTC allows for mechanical advancement of the timing where the engine you are getting does not.
