Nissan Repair: 2001 Nissen Maxima Se airbag lights, passenger side airbag, nissen

The airbag lights keep coming on.  Have had it reset once but couple months later back on. Car was not in an accident. Was told I could spend $2500.00 to repair. Are there other options?

Airbags are expensive to repair.  Now, you could have something as simple as one airbag on the network being defective and that would be about $500 bucks.  The only way to really know is to get two quotes from two different garages.  It takes a special scanner to check the airbag circuit and with two quotes you should get the same story.  Email me back and let me know what you find and we'll go from there.  I have a 2000 Maxima and mine did the same thing and it ended up being the passenger side airbag and that was $650 out the door.
