ON a 2000 nissan xterra 3.3 how do you get the crankshaft cover off

It would be easier to remove the engine since the pan and then the crankshaft cover come off in that order.  I would get a Haynes Manual for the diagrams.  But, if you want to get the cover in the vehicle it will be a pain in the butt.  The sealer is quite good so you have to use a wedge to get the sealer to release.  You have to be careful not to crack or warp the mating surfaces.
