Nissan Repair: 96 nissan pick up 2.4L, nissan parts department, distributor cap

Question
i am getting no spark . do you think it is bad module ? cranks but sounds like it has dead cylinder but supposedly it ran fine the other day but then just stalled .

Answer
Hi Scott,

Scott, remove the distributor cap and have someone crank the engine to see if the rotor is turning. If it doesn't then you'll need to replace the timing belt. If it does, there is a TSB out on bad distributors and a replacement program from Nissan. Contact your local Nissan parts department for more details if this is the case. The coil and a number of other sensors are built into the distributor.
