Nissan Repair: Overdrive, nissan altima gxe, nissan altima

We recently purchased a 1996 Nissan Altima GXE,4 cyl,automatic and it has an overdrive button. As I am not familiar with overdrive, when do you use it, and what kind of driving is it for, city or highway?

Hi Ruthie!

Congrats on your car purchase and a fine automobile it is! You car is designed to drive in the overdrive setting at all times. If you are on a hilly road and want to avoid numerous shifts back and forth, then you can disable the overdrive, but it's not necessary.
