Nissan Repair: Slow Takeoff, nissan maxima, time thanks

Question
I have a 1991 Nissan Maxima, I have noticed this past week that my car takes awhile before it gets some speed. I paid attention and it seems like it has to get to 35-40mph before you acutally feel like your driving at normal speed. Someone told me it seems like my car is not getting enough gas, but im not sure if thats correct. This happen once before, then right after I turned the car off and it would not start back up.I end up having to replace the alternator and the battery. What possibly could it be this time?

Thanks in advance

Answer
Transmission is not shifting, your check engine light is likely on. Cottman transmission will diagnose your issue for free. It is likely a sensor, but if you continue driving like this, it will turn into a huge nightmare. This is likely the same issue as before, but when you replaced the battery, you reset the computer. When the computer saw the problem again, it puts you into fail safe. 3rd and reverse only. It's trying to protect it self from further damage.
