Nissan Repair: 2001 Altima headlights wont turn on, altima headlights, nissan altima

Question
I have a 2001 Nissan Altima. I'm putting in a remote starter, and recently when I was just taping off wires (haven't cut a thing yet). I started my car the next day only to find out that I can't turn on my headlights/fog lights and my dashboard light don't come on, also your driving night back lights don't come on and my door doesn't ding if I leave them in the op position when I open my car door, like it should when you leave them on and/or the keys in.

I've checked fuses in both the boxes I can find. The only thing that was weird was then I was in the car when I was taping off wires (had the bottom console unscrewed, but nothing I shouldn't be able to do) I had on my dome light and map lights to give me more lighting, about 30 minutes or so into my work the interior lights just went off. No sparks, but I just assumed it was a safety to keep my battery from dying. So I turned on the car and then off and turned all the lights back on and it didn't happen again.

Do you think I'm missing a fuse or is this a computer issue? I have even unhooked the battery and let the system drain for 10 minutes and rehooked it, nothing changed. Everything else works fine: breaks, turn signals, wipers, radio.

Any and all ideas are accepted, I have to be able to drive to work at 3am on Tuesday, so I'm in desperate need of figuring this out. Thanks to all for responding, I truly appreciate it!

Answer
O.k., I wish someone would put a remote starter on my truck.
The small wire going to your starter actually controls more than just the starter. It also powers the dash lights etc.
With that I give you this: disconnect the remote starter right at the point you connected it to the starter.
