Nissan Repair: 91 Nissan Dashboard Lights, dashboard lights, headlight switch

Question
When I turn my lights on in the car, the dashboard lights, the clock light, etc. are very very dim to the point where I can barely see them at night (and definitely not in the day time). Also my headlights pop on and off from time to time. Any Suggestions?

Answer
Shonquil,

You might have a couple of problems here.  The first, with the headlights is definately the headlight switch.  The second, the dash lights, is probably the dimmer switch on the dash.  But, I would replace the headlight switch first since that is a real safety concern.  Oh, and the headlight swtich is really easy since it only takes a screwdriver and you do not need to remove the steering wheel.  Just take the cover off the column, the screws are on the bottom side, and you will see the harness and screws for the headlight switch.
