Nissan Repair: Please help!, rotor wire, nissan maxima

Hi! I have a 2000 Nissan Maxima that I've been driving for about 6 months now. For the past 3-4 months, it kind of hesitates when I start it and hesitates when I try and accelerate (the RPMs go up before the car speeds up, and then it kicks back) Also, mainly when I accelerate, I hear a rattle in the engine (like there's change in there). I read a few blogs and found a lot of people thought it could be the "gusset"? I would really appreciate your thoughts on this. Thank you very much.

First of all, let's check the obvious:

When was the last time you had a tune up? Meaning spark plugs, cap and rotor, wire set?

Is the cooling system filled and clean?

Also the transmission could be slipping, have you check the fluid level, and if so, what is the color of the oil? Should be light red.

Also need your mileage on the car
