Nissan Repair: air conditioning 1992 300zx, waether, light indicator

Question
After I brought it back to the repair shop they realized they
pulled out one of the fuses when working on the car.  It was a
fuse under the hood on the driver side near the relays but it
didn't say air conditioning it was listed as eng con or something
similar (hard to read letters are wearing off)  I assumed it was
meant to not have a fuse in that spot.  Once pluged in the dash
warning lights went off and the AC works great.  Another
question, the reason I brought the car in was it had a strong
exhaust smell.  After they did the repairs, it runs great but still
has a strong exhaust smell especially when it is cold.  It's my
sons car so I followed him for a few days in cold waether and
noticed for about the first 5 minutes of driving in cold waether I
could see white smoke(looks like steam) then it goes away.  You
can only see this in cold weather all other times there is no
smoke seen at all.  Are there other adjustments that can be done
or could it be the catalytic converter.  I beleive it is the original.
All spark plugs, injectors and injector wires have been changed.

Thanks

Thanks.  Fuses are good and the brake switch is working a far as
I can tell because the brake lights all work.  Everything was good
until the other repairs were done.   Any other help would be
appreciated

Thanks

Question -
I have a 1992 300zx non turbo that I just brought home from
the repair shop where they replaced the fuel injectors ans the
electrical connectors for the fuel injectors.  Now the AC doesn't
get cold.  The fan and controls work but the compressor doesn't
kick on.  I checked the fuses ans the relay and they are good.  If
I bypass the relay the compressor kicks on and the ac gets cold.
The brake light on the instrument panel and the rear brake light
indicator are now also on.  The brake lights are all good and the
fluid level is normal.  Since this has all happened after the repair
shop had the car I don't think it is a coincidence and that they
may have not conected something when putting the car back
together.  Any idea on what could be wrong?

Answer -
Jim,

Check the fuses first for the compressor and the brake light is
probably the brake switch.  It is located above the brake pedal.
Email me back if you have problems.

Answer -
Jim,

The airconditioner comes on when the relay is bypassed?  Have
you changed the relay to see if it will work?  I would check that.
If that does not do the trick check to see if there is a complete
chare.  If there is not enough R12 in the system it will refuse to
come on.

I would check the wiring to the alternator and the fuse links at
the positive side of the battery cable since a loose wire or blown
fuse link will get the brake light to do strange things the way
Nissan wires it.

Answer
Jim,

Glad that is was a fuse on the brake and the airconditioner.  The problem with doing diagnosis on the computer is that I cannot see the car.  On the smoke from the exhaust I would be looking at the fuel pressure regulator since you have not said that the car is eating coolant.  If your coolant goes down and it is not dripping on the ground you would have a blown headgasket.  But, if that is fine and it only does it when it is cold I would say that the fuel pressure regulator should be checked since it appears to be getting too much fuel when it first starts.
