Nissan Repair: knocking noise in valve cover, nissan 240sx, ka24e

hi i have a nissan 240sx 1990 ka24e and i get a knocking noise from the valve cover. when i push on the gas the kncoking rises with it. my check engine light is not on and i dont have any other problems. i dont want to drive it cause i dont want to make it worse. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks again joanthan

Hey  Jonathan, thanks for asking.
It sounds like a misadjusted rocker arm, or possibly a weak lifter. Unfortunately, the only way to find out would be to take the valve cover off and look at it.
There are other ways to diagnose the problem, but, seeing how you know already of the location of the problem, this is the easiest way.(most of the time)
