Nissan Repair: cv axle, cv axle, pinion shaft

Question
Hello,

I am replacing my entire cv axle on the driver's side. I have the
old one out but can't get the new one in. the splines fit right but
the end of the axle bumps into something. I looked through
where the axle goes into the transmission and there is a brass
colored piece of metal in the way, It looks like a "bar" or rod. Did
the gears move? How do I fix this problem?
Thank you.

Answer
HI Wyatt,
