Nissan Repair: Pls help me with Nissan altima issue, mass air flow sensor, mass air flow

Question
I have a '97 Nissan Altima with about 106k miles on it. Last weekend I drove it to church but it failed to start as I was about to leave church. I thought it run out of gas so I went and bought some gas. it started right after I put the gas in. This was after an hour or so of the car being parked.
I drove it out of the church yard and then it started wobbling and hesitating after about 2 miles of driving then it died and will not start again.
I got it towed to the mechanic. He replaced the Ignition Distributor and the PCV system. The car has since stalled once but it continues to hesitate when you step on the gas and you expect the car to take off. Sometimes it can bearly do 20 miles an hour. It seem like a fuel system issue to me but I am not sure. Somebody suggested the Mass Air Flow Sensor.
Please help me figure this out.
Thanks you.

Answer
Emmanuel,

Yes, the mass airflow sensors are known to go out on your car.  But, I would check the fuel pressure first before I would throw parts at the car.  The MAF is one component that can fail without throwing a code.  So, check the fuel pressure and email me back with what you find.  Also, check the intake hose to see if it is tight and there are no cracks or hoses loose.  If the car gets unmetered air, that is, air getting into the intake that the mass airflow sensor cannot read, it will make the car run rough and slow.
