Nissan Repair: O/D light and cruise control, programmed mode, nissan pathfinder

Question
I have a 1997 Nissan Pathfinder 4 x 4.  When I start the car, the O/D light flashes several times.  It does not happen everytime, but about 50%.  The cruise control also stopped working, and the service engine light is on with the codes for the speed senser and knock sensor.  Are all these things related?  Any thoughts?

Thank you,

Answer
Lee,

Yes, the speed sensor is the problem with the transmission.  Since the computer cannot see how fast the truck is going it sets a code.  The knock sensor is a problem and this causes the car to go into a pre-programmed mode to keep from hurting the engine.  I would replace that too.  Then, disconnect the battery for about five minutes to clear the codes.
