Nissan Repair: Starting, nissan sentra, fuel rail

Question
My 2000 Nissan Sentra stopped running while I was driving down the road.  The car is trying to start, but will not take.  I had the battery checked, it is fine.  I replaced the ground contact at the battery, the positive looks fine.  It started a couple of times and everything sounded good.  But, now it does not want to start again.  Any ideas?

Thanks,
Tom

Answer
Tom,

It is fire or fuel.  So, we'll need to figure out which one it is.  On a 2000 Sentra I would check the fire from the plugs to see if there is spark.  Pull number one wire and then get a paper clip and insert it in the end and hold it close to the block, without touching.  Now, have someone turn the engine over and look for spark.  If you have spark check for fuel pressure to see if the pump is getting fuel to the fuel rail.  Check it out and email me back with what you have.  You did not mention if there were any codes set in the computer.
