Nissan Repair: Battery improperly connected..., nissan maxima, fusible link

Question
Please help! My 18 y/o son purchaced a battery for my 95 Nissan Maxima, the men at the store didn't have time to help him put it on, so he tried it himself. Well he connected it wrong and blew the battery and every other thing electrical in my car. Autozone replaced that battery, I have a new battery, new alternator, new 120V fusible link-battery, but I still don't have a radio, the clock doesnt work, and airbag light blinks consistantly and the air blows warm air. Could ALL these things be related and what else should I check? I replaced the fusible link myself after being told that would remedy the problem. What's a woman to do?

Answer
Panela,

Yes, the systems you mention could be fried by hooking the battery up wrong.  Now, I would check all the fuses first before replacement of the radio or the climate control mother board.  If you have to you could source the parts at a wrecking yard to save money.  You are really lucky the ECM did not get cooked.  That is quite common on Japanese imports.
