Nissan Repair: Replacing rotors on 96 Pathfinder!, nissan pathfinder, test gas

Question
Hi,
How exactly would you go about replacing the rotors on a Nissan Pathfinder? It seems that there are an unnecessary amount of things to be taken off before the rotors can be removed. Is this the case, or are we going about it the wrong way? Is it normal to have to remove the bearing house, etc? Any help or new information would be so greatly appreciated! Also, my RPM's will occasionally (usually just on start-up after it has been sitting), once put in to gear, will jump up and down- what might be the cause of this? Thanks for your time,
Laura

Answer
Laura,

The calipers and torque beams that the calipers bolt onto have to come off to get the rotors off.

The idle problem is probably associated with a dirty throttle body since it is only doing it when it is started up cold.  Clean the throttle body with cleaner and reinstall the hose and start it up and that should solve the problem.  Also, run a couple of tanks of high test gas through the system and you should be fine.
