Hi Von, I have a 1987 Nissan Stanza (sedan) was wondering how in the world do you replace the starter on this vehicle?  You can barely see it!! Thanks in advance for any tricks to this job, Bob

Remember that this engine was a rear wheel drive model until they decided to use it on a front wheel drive application.  Yes, it is quite the pain to remove and replace.  Basically, disconnect the battery, jack up the car and chock the wheels and support the car with stands and crawl under it.  Now, that you are down there you can see the starter is obscured by several things.  Anyway, I did one and it did come out.  So, with the use of extensions and swivels it can be done.  No tricks other than getting a cutting torch...
