Nissan Repair: yes codes for fuel injector..., mass airflow sensor, electrical specialists

Question
yes codes for fuel injector leak, fuel injector signal circuit fault, knock sensor or circuit fault, and mass airflow sensor or circuit fault.i figured the 94 computer would have to go with 94 motor for other reasons besides just the injectors?  will this mess anything else up?

Answer
Bryan,

Yes, there are some vast differences in the wiring for different years on many Japanese cars and in some cases they change things in the middle of a year.  They take Just in Time production to new levels and change things as they see fit.

The engines are basically the same and if you took the sensors off your old engine and installed them on the new engine you would be fine.  I have seen some electrical specialists trace out all the wiring to make sure that everything is fine but in my experience I take the easy way out and go with the factory original system for a given year and change what needs to be changed for the newer engine to work with the older car.  Wiring is a can of worms that you really have to take the time to sort out.  If you could sort out the differences in the wiring on each of the systems you could probably get away with it.  But, for my time, if you still have the old engine I would swap out what was neeed to get a good baseline and go from there.
