Nissan Repair: 1994 Nissan Altima, nissan altima, defective unit

Question
I have a 1994 Nissan Altima that I replaced the alternator with a rebuilt one from Autozone, jumped the car using the old battery but it wouldn't stay started. Bought a new battery and now the brake and battery lights are back on....any suggestions about what could be the problem now

Answer
The Autozone alternator is a defective unit.  Take it back and get another one and be sure to have the battery charged before you attempt to restart.  Remember to take the terminal off the battery when replacing the alternator and then install the fully charged battery.  You should be good to go.
