Followup question:

How do I take the glovebox assembly out? sorry for the probably dumb question - also would I need a special tool for this?

Many Many Thanks,
Athena
(To change the blower motor take the glovebox assembly out and you will find the blower motor under the dash)

Question -
Where is located in the car - I've very different price ranges  for repair.

I'd  llike to do it myself with my husband, but I need to know where it  is and a step by step guide.

Please respond or advise soon - hot weather gets very very hot here in Texas.

I have  a 1995 INFINITY J-30

I'd be grateful for some help.

(I've never had ANY  problems  with this car, I love it  and I want to learn how to maintain  it as well.   I oil, clean  and  rotate tires often

Athena,

You have a great car and I love them too.  The J30 is an awsome work of automotive art.  To change the blower motor take the glovebox assembly out and you will find the blower motor under the dash.  Just a plug for the electrical and the screws that hold it in place.  Get one from Autozone or the like and it is really easy.  Just make sure that you do not over tighten the screws and the installation is a breeze.

Answer
Athena,

All you need is a phillips screwdriver and take the screws out of the top part of the glovebox.  Basically, open the glovebox and look where it closes and you should see four screws across the top.  On the bottom, where it pivots, there are two.  You might have to remove the kick panel on the right side, down by where you feet would go to get to the screw on the lower right.  Afrer that you pull the glovebox assembly out and down.  Now, that you have done that you should have to disconnect the light and the airbag harness clips that hold the yellow wire to the top of the glovebox insert.  No problem and you now have access to the blower motor.  Some blower motors are held in with phillips screws and some are held in with ten millimeter screws.  Just remove these and unplug the wires and install the new one in reverse order.
