Nissan Repair: Engine/ rear struts replacement, rear struts, 260z

Question
a 1974 260Z, engine works fine until the RPM goes above 3000.  It starts to hesitate, backfire and eventually cuts off.  Once it happens, one or two spark plug get wet.I was told that the electrony ignition control module may be acting up.  I want to hear a second opinion.
By the way, how can I replace the rear struts on the vehicle?

Answer
I would go through the ignition to include the control module and coil plus the wires.  On the rear struts it is easy to change them.  Just buy a set and place the car on jackstands.  Place a jack under the pad on the rear suspension to unload the assembly.  Not too much and then remove the strut from the bottom.  Now, remove the top mount and change out the hardware for the new one.
