Nissan Repair: engine codes, intake air temp, nissian

1997 nissian truck 2.4 lit, 2 codes come upon the check engine light.  po110 twice (Intake air temp. sensor) malfunction, po340 camshaft position sensor A-bank 1 circuit malf.   I dont know where to begin. I mean I don't want to buy the parts and it would be an internal thing.  What could i test or start a process of elimination.  thanks

First, you have not got the engine wet?  If the engine has been washed recently it could cause the problems you describe.  If not there is a good chance that the cam position sensor is bad.  The air inlet temperature sensor could just be unplugged.  Cheeck the wires leading to the air intake temperature sensor to see if this is the case.  You can always remove the sensor from the intake hose and see if it is defective.  Get a manual and check the resistance before you replace it.  Again, check all the wires leading to the sensor and the plug to the sensor too.
