Nissan Repair: engine modifacation, throttle position sensor, vent valves

Question
hi, I race oval ciciuts I have a 1993-l nissan sunny 1.4 16v multi-point injection car to meet regulatoins I have to remove the injection. I have purchased a normal carburetor and manifold but am wondering whether I can run the car to its max whilst removing the ecu box etc. Im worried that I will have problems wiring up, with the new carb etc I would love to simplify the car but with a cam sensor can I still run the same dizzy, even the new carb has wires coming from it all over. Im struggling to get any advise on the wiring the rest is ok but have to admit im lost on management systems etc.. any help would be gratefully accepted. the car is so fast I would love to keep racing it thankyou for your time katy

Answer
You will have to get an aftermarket distributor management system to control the spark and advance since you are getting rid of the fuel injection.  I do not know of a factory system that would interchange with yours.  You will have to check the aftermarket to see what it out there.  The wires that come out of the carburetor from the intake you bought might be a good starting point to find a breakerless ignition system and computer to manage it.

Wiring the carburetor is pretty simple as there are few systems that it would contain.  One is the power valve.  One is the electric choke.  Another could be the throttle position sensor or the stepper motor for fast idle.  One could be for airconditioner compressor cut out at wide open throttle.  Another could be for the evaporative control system where the old carburetors had open vent valves many later ones have feed back systems to keep fuel from venting to the air.
