Nissan Repair: hydraulic clutch on 1988 nissan pathfinder, clutch master cylinder, hydraulic clutch

Question
occasionally the clutch pedal gets stuck to the floor. the spring on the pedal seems to work fine but the hydraulic system doesnt seem to always come back. ive tried bleeding the clutch damper and the operating cylinder underneath with no results. any suggestions would greatly help. by the way it's 4wd.

Answer
The clutch master cylinder needs to be replaced.  If the seals in the clutch master cylinder get old and 1988 is old, they will hang on occasion.  When you replace the master cylinder for the clutch it is best to replace the slave too as they wear out at about the same time.
