Nissan Repair: 93 SE-V6 4x4 fuel pump fuse, amp fuse, recommended size

Question
my fuel pump fuse was blown the other day, replaced with recommended size, it worked fine for a couple of days, then blown fuse again. replaced, blows right away. tried 25 amp fuse, didn't blow but fuel pump didn't seem to work either. before I drop the tank and pull the pump, is there any common ailment to this particular model?
Thanks

Answer
The fuel pump has given up.  Just replace the pump and when you do replace the filter too.  Also, try to keep a quarter of a tank in the car as this helps to cool the pump since it is in the tank.  it will make the pump last longer.  Buy the factory pump as the aftermarket ones do not last near as long and once you have dropped a gas tank you will not want to have to do it over again.  Be sure to get the gasket or o-ring when you get the pump as any gas on the old one will make it expand and in doing so you will have a time trying to get it back on.
