Nissan Repair: Sentry Brakes, break pads, family emergency

Question
I didn't replace either set of pads, only the right front caliper.  But the "drag" isn't occurring during braking, it is occurring while driving after having braked (most notibly after sitting at a light for a while).

1991 Sentra, 202000 miles.  After my last inspection, the right front brake pads were almost completely gone, the left front was at least half there, I was told I needed a new caliper (it was not replaced at the time, but the pads were).  Recently, after sitting at a red light, once I start going again, I notice a significant "drag" in power, and the car "wants" to go to the right.  Assuming this is the caliper problem, I replaced the right front caliper, but the problem still exists.  After a couple of highway miles, I don't notice the problem anymore.

David,

Sorry took so long, family emergency.

I need to know if you just changed only the right side break pads.  If so then that is the problem.

You see when you put brand new pads on only one side, when you go to break the new pad will "grab" first before the other pad engages contact.
This will cause the dragging effect.  Plus it will cause you to ver to the right, possibly JERK to the right.  If you haven't already.
Let me know then we'll go from there.

Answer
It seems to me that your plunger is hanging up.  However if you changed the calipor this should not occur.

Did you bleed the lines upon completion of changing the calipor?

I would recheck your calipor to make sure it is not a faulty one.
