Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: 2000 Buick Regal

Question
Hi Tom. This one is driving me crazy.  The battery died so I took it to Auto zone and then Advance AP. They both said it was bad. So I bought a new one and installed it, turned the key to on (all dash lights came on during the bulb test) and then to start, but nothing happened. The dash lights would go out and I could hear the fuel pump but all else was silent.  I then noticed the interior lights, horn electric windows and mirrors would not work.  I tried a different battery but no different.   After reviewing posts on the Internet,  I replaced the ignition switch ( not the key and cylinder) but no change. The security light never stayed on and never blinked. I tested the resistor on the key and it was close to recommended spec.
Any ideas? Thanks for your time.

THIS TO ME SOUNDS LIKE THE FUSE-ABLE LINK DOWN AT THE STARTER MOTOR HAS GONE BAD,OR IF THERE IS NOT A FUSE-ABLE LINK AT THE STARTER CK THE LINK COMING OUT OF THE POSS BATTERY CABLE. SOUNDS TO ME LIKE IT BLEW..MAYBE FROM THE BAD BATTERY..ALSO CK FOR POWER ON THE PURPLE WIRE AT THE STARTER SOLENOID WHEN YOU ARE CRANKING THE STARTER OVER, SEE IF THERE IS POWER TO THIS WIRE..IF THERE IS THE STARTER IS BAD AS LONG AS THE BIG CABLE TO THE STARTER HAS 12 VOLTS TO IT.
IF THE BIG CABLE DOES NOT HAVE 12 VOLTS AT THE STARTER CK FOR A OPEN IN THIS MAIN CABLE..SOME OF THESE CARS WILL HAVE A FUSE-ABLE LINK AT THE STARTER OR BATTERY CABLE THAT POWERS THE OPTIONS IN YOUR CAR THAT DO NOT WORK..IF NOT CK ALL THE FUSES AS WELL...GET BACK TO ME ON WHAT YOU FIND..GOOD LUCK TO YOU,,,TOM...
