Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: 99 Buick Park Ave 3.8L non supercharged..., buick park ave, wifes car

Question
Hello,
My wifes car is due for an oil pan and I just wanted to be sure that it is as simple as I see it to be. I already have the pan and gasket. After looking under the car, it seems to be relatively straightforward and easy. Is this the case or are there some trouble spots to look out for along the way?
Thanks.

Answer
Hi
As straight forward as it looks, EXCEPT when the pan is being lowered, you'll need to remove the (2) 8mm bolts holding on the oil pump pick up tube inside the pan.
You MAY be able to snake it off, but it is easier to remove the tube.
It too will require a gasket, but it is small and inexpensive.
Good Luck
